2021 BMW M4 Coupe Reveals a Controversial Front Design in Spy Photo

You’ll find other differences to the regular 4 if you look beyond the grille.

We’ve seen many spy photos of the new BMW M4 and it is one of the most secretive in the industry. Another member of the Bimmer Forums has shared an image showing what is likely a prototype that was not camouflaged. The grille’s shape and size is not surprising, but the kidneys now have horizontal slats instead of the more intricate mesh on the lower 4 Series Coupe models.

The front bumper doesn’t seem to be any more aggressive than that reserved for the xDrive model. This is quite surprising. Although vertical vents are located on the sides of the bumper, it is not clear if they are functional or just for display.

We can also see a noticeable change in the front spoiler lip, which is glossy black and compared to the 4 Series Coupe/ M440i. The redesigned hood appears to have two indentations running from the base of your windshield to the bottom. We can’t see if the vents are actually there to cool the engine. This is just a design element.

You shouldn’t have any doubts regarding the authenticity of the image. Spy shots from the past that revealed both the front and rear designs of the M4 Coupe and the M3 Sedan fully were previously released. BMW confirms that the license is valid. This is the information you will find at a BMW dealer near to you when the car goes on sale in 2021.

Another member of the Bimmer forums tweaked the image and painted the HTML4 with vibrant colors to show more design details. A second image shows the front bumper, with the grille holding the M4 logo at the top-right corner.

BMW has just announced that the M3 Sedan will be available in September, along with the M4 Coupe. This dynamic duo will come in rear-wheel and all-wheel drive, manual or automatic transmissions, and a Competition version with 503 horsepower.
