Kia Teases New Sportage Design in Advance Of US Debut Next week

Haven’t we seen it before?

You don’t need to look at the new teaser image of Kia’s refreshed Sportsage. Although they are both different, the global model was first introduced in June. The European model followed in September. The company will unveil the redesigned crossover next week in America, which will be on October 27. Although the teaser showcases the front fascias of the crossover, it is not new.

Kia will actually offer two Sportage versions, with Europe receiving the one with a shorter wheelbase. Although it doesn’t appear to be the same model, the teaser for US Sportage does look similar. Is this a sign that the US will get the longer version? This is more likely than not, as American customers love spacious cabins. However, anything is possible.

Kia did not provide details about the Sportage’s powertrain, but the company stated that the Sportage will be available with “a variety of powerful engines” and the option to have the crossover with either front- or all-wheel drive. It will be available with the standard advanced driver assistant system and the most recent infotainment technology. However, we need only look at the two Sportage models before we can see what we are getting.

The global Sportage was revealed by Kia with a turbocharged, 1.6-liter gasoline engine that produces 177 horsepower (130kilowatts) as well as 265 Newton-meters (295 pound-feet), which should also power the American version. You can also get a diesel option but it is not expected to be here. Kia stated that there will be other powertrains such as a hybrid or a plug-in hybrid, but the company has yet not announced these details. They should be available closer to the model’s launch date.

The US Sportage will be revealed next week. However, it won’t be available for purchase until early next year. It is likely to go on sale in 2022. You can also check out the global and Euro versions if you are impatient.
