Hyundai has apparently changed the rear-end styling of the car.
The new Hyundai Ioniq 6, despite all the camouflage, won’t exactly retell the story of the company’s spectacular Prophecy concept. Although the design of the production version has been streamlined by Hyundai, there are still stylistic similarities and Hyundai may be adding more. New spy photos reveal that Hyundai has modified the rear end of the Ioniq 6 to match the concept.
New photos show the vehicle at a charging station. The mesh camouflage on the rear bumper shows the lamp reflector units. It’s not clear what the changes were. Earlier spy photos showed Hyundai covering this area in swirly camouflage. It looks more like , the concept’s unique rear lighting arrangement. Hyundai is pushing the limits in lighting design.
Although the car still has thick cladding covering the front and rear fascias it is difficult to miss the swooping roofline. The car’s spoiler is likely hidden behind the chunky cladding at its rear. It cascades down to the chunky cladding at its rear. The rear of the Ioniq 6 is not as low as that of the concept, and the car won’t have the coach doors. The EV will have flush door handles.
Hyundai will place its E-GMP platform under the new vehicle. It is the foundation of the Ioniq5 and will likely share powertrains or battery packs. The sleek sedan will be available in single- or dual-motor configurations. All-wheel drive is also possible and the engine produces over 300 horsepower (223 megawatts). The sedan could also be available in a performance N variant. However, the standard car is not as fast as the N variant. It can reach speeds of 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.2 seconds.
Hyundai has already approved the final design, so we won’t see any styling changes. Although Hyundai has not yet announced a release date, SangYup Lee (the company’s design boss) stated earlier this month that the new electric vehicle would be available for purchase within the next few months. We are eager to see the final product’s comparison to the concept.
