Croatia’s CEO recalls some facts about the development of an electric hypercar.
Rimac spent many years, manpower and money developing its electric hypercar.
Mate Rimac, CEO at Bugatti-Rimac was keen to reminisce through a Facebook post. Photos of the first Nevera in Croatia were included in the social media post.
The caption of the Facebook post reads (roughly translated as):
Over 1,000 people participated in the development of the project. 17 prototypes were produced, 45 crash test results were obtained, 9 cars were destroyed in crash tests, and thousands of other tests were performed. Today, the first Nevera is regularly registered. At the moment, it is only in Croatia. Soon, there will be many more countries. You can see more of this plate with a stamp. It will be fascinating to see them soon on charts in Monaco, USA, Germany and Japan.
The first Nevera was registered in Mate’s native Croatia. It will soon become registered in other countries, and Rimac seems excited to see the Nevera reach countries such as Monaco, Germany, Japan, and the USA.
The Nevera, Rimac’s second production vehicle, has been five years in the making. The quad-motor configuration of the Nevera produces 1,914 horsepower (1.408 kilowatts), and 2,360 Newton-meters (1.741 pound-feet). It is quite impressive. The hypercar, powered by a battery, can reach speeds of 62 miles an hour (100 km per hour) in just 1.97 seconds.
Rimac intends to produce 150 units of Nevera, each one selling for approximately EUR2 million or $2.1 million at current exchange rates. The Nevera is available in three trim levels: GT Signature, Timeless and Signature. A Bespoke edition allows for further customization.
According to the company, the first Nevera registered will not be identical with any other Neveras.
